TED Key Privacy Policy
TED Key is a Chrome side panel extension for learning from TED and YouTube talks. It reads public transcript information from the video page you are viewing, lets you mark phrases and notes, and creates prompts for personal study.
Data We Use
TED Key may process the following data when you use the extension:
- Website content from TED or YouTube pages, such as public captions, transcript text, page title, video URL, and playback time.
- User activity inside the extension, such as selected transcript lines, marked words, notes, generated prompts, and learning history.
- Web history-like learning records, limited to the TED or YouTube video URL, title, and update time that you choose to save through the extension.
Storage
Learning records, marks, notes, and generated prompt material are stored locally in your browser using Chrome extension storage. TED Key does not operate a server account system for this extension data.
Data Sharing
TED Key does not sell user data. TED Key does not transfer user data to third parties except when you explicitly copy generated prompt text and paste it into another service yourself.
Purpose Limitation
Data is used only to provide TED Key's single purpose: helping users study TED and YouTube talks by reading public transcripts, marking learning cues, saving local records, and generating AI retelling prompts.
